In 2013 Google would have been working with LSI Corp, acquired by Avago in 2014 and founding the custom design division which is the core of their AI success today. The acquisition of Broadcom by Avago in 2015 would bring in the network switch and SOC expertise., retaining the Broadcom name. Together these form the broad chip design and product capabilities of the current Broadcom.
Google was long silent about who their partners were so by the time it became known, the partner was Broadcom. But the logical original partner would have been LSI Corp.
I was not correcting so much as hoping to add insight why Broadcom partners in this kind of business. LSI Corp has been very successful as a quiet business unit.
